Hey there! Welcome to Madison House in Indy/Southport! This place is huge (3000 sq ft!) – perfect for families or groups. You'll find plenty of space to chill out (and spread out), and we've packed it with all the comforts of home (and some cool extras too!). The neighborhood is quiet and suburban, + super close to some great eats and shops. Plus, downtown Indy (Speedway, Lucas Oil Stadium, Zoo, Conv. Center etc.) is just a quick 15-20 min drive. The Space:
First, let's talk location! Whether you're coming into town to visit family, or attend an event/convention, this location can't be beat. The neighborhood is very established... you will see many beautiful/classic homes. It is a family neighborhood and is quiet. Yet... you will have access to loads of shops/restaurants within about a 10 minute drive! Drive a few more miles and you'll be in the middle of the thriving downtown area of Indianapolis. Here are some sample drive times:
Lucas Oil Stadium: 15 minutes
Convention Center: 16 minutes
Childrens Museum: 21 minutes
Zoo: 19 minutes
Indy Speedway: 25 minutes
Bottleworks: 17 mins
Airport: 18 minutes
While Indy is definitely a "car city" (mass transit is not fantastic), the driveway can easily fit 3-4 cars.
Now for the house! Habitude Stays is known for providing a "Home Away from Home" experience for our guests, and this level of hospitality obviously starts in the kitchen! We've got everything you need to whip up some awesome meals – think full spice rack, oil & vinegar, and even the basics like salt and pepper. But for your caffeine addicts - whether you're a Keurig fan or love drip coffee, we've got you covered, complete with coffee grounds/pods and add-ins. (oh, and Tea as well!). Last, we've got you covered for the kiddos... kid friendly plates and utensils as well as a high chair are available for our guests to use.
Chill zones? We've got three! First, there's the family room with the world's comfiest sofa (so big, we split it with the basement theater room). Catch your fave shows/movies on the large Roku TV here by logging into any of your streaming accounts. Open up the cabinet to find board games to enjoy with your group. The basement's got a cool projector screen and an Xbox with two controllers – perfect for movie nights or gaming. And if you're looking for a cozy but classy spot, the living room’s your place, with a big desk and lots of natural light. Oh, and two bookshelves full of books.
Sleep tight in our comfy bedrooms – all with memory foam mattresses, cozy bedding, and extra pillows. The main bedroom's massive, with a King bed, two closets, and a Roku TV, plus space for a pack-n-play (which is... you guessed it, provided). The other two bedrooms on the main level have queen beds and of course closets with hangers and luggage racks. The fourth bedroom is upstairs with extra-long twin beds, ideal for kids or adults, and even has a cool podcast table set-up!
Both bathrooms have shower/tub combos. The loft bathroom is a bit quirky with low headroom over the toilet and vanity so watch your head!
And the outdoor space? It's awesome! The fully fenced backyard is perfect for your pup and kids to play. This spring (2024), we’re adding a dining area to the sunroom (once it warms up enough to want to be outdoors, lol), so you can enjoy meals cooked on our two grills (a Big Green Egg and a gas grill). Plus, don't forget the huge covered front porch and side deck with gas fire pit – great spots to relax.
