The Quilter’s Cottage is our newest addition to Mill Wheel on the Nueces. I think it is the most charming with two porches, a high peaked roof and an upstairs bedroom! Some of the appeal is found in the furnishings - antique iron beds with quilts and vintage drapes, an old hoosier cabinet, an antique armoire and wicker furniture scattered about! The Quilter’s Cottage is equipped with central air and heat to insure that our guests are comfortable in any weather. As you enter the living, dining, kitchen area from either of the two porches you will immediately begin to experience the old fashioned charm of this place. The old round oak table under a beautiful chandelier and the antique hoosier in the kitchen/dining area look right at home in this new/old house! A short walk will take you to the picnic area overlooking the beautiful Nueces river. The river is deep and clear. Summer finds the river just the right temperature to enjoy a good swim! Our winter guests will enjoy the mild winters in Camp Wood with temperatures averaging from 33 degrees up to 80 degrees.
