The French and Indian War had just ended the year the Hastings 1763 Guest House was built. It is located on a Colonial route, presently 209, running North-South between Milford and Stroudsburg, PA. This Guest House accommodated many a weary traveler and was the location for fresh horses to be hooked to the carriage before continuing on the journey. It is known Benjamin Franklin visited and stayed while changing horses at this first-ever Bed and Breakfast in PA. The house boasts thick stone walls, deep window sills, and the original walk-in fireplace. The attic has a small window where the livery boy would stay and watch for the dust coming down the road to alert the staff of an arriving carriage. The Second-floor guest rooms have their original numbers. A clapboard addition was put on the back of the house in the 1940s. This pre-revolution house invites you to take a step back and unwind with your family and friends. Five bedrooms, two and a half baths, kitchen, breakfast nook, parlor, dining room, living room, stone porch, walking trail, outdoor area, and fire pit are yours to enjoy during your stay.
